Practical Self Defence

practical self defence

Our self defence training is very practically based and can be tailored to suit the individual. We are particularly used to teaching self defence techniques for people travelling abroad – either alone or in small groups.

We emphasise avoidance as opposed to confrontation (it’s safer!) and techniques which do not inflict serious injury (killing or maiming an attacker is likely to get you into very serious trouble in most countries, especially if they are a local).

Practical self defence involves forward planning, awareness, positive body language, quick thinking, diplomacy and confidence. Physical confrontation is a last resort. If it does get physical, take downs and restraints are both good options – they prevent an opponent from hurting you without inflicting injury on them. Of course, it may be necessary to disarm them first! The defence techniques that we do teach are based on kung fu, Chinese boxing and a great deal of experience. We only teach stuff that works!

Our training will provide you with the confidence which you need to live happily and without fear.

If you are going travelling, consider making the MTC your first stop so as to learn how to tackle whatever (whoever) may be waiting for you elsewhere.

To achieve the peace of mind which comes from knowing that you can take care of your self, book a course using our booking form. If you would like more information, contact us using the contact form.
