Terms and Conditions

We are first and foremost a kung fu school, not a business.  We do have to charge however hence, in the modern world, terms and conditions are necessary.

 1. Conduct.

The MTC is a kung fu school and all persons present are expected to conduct themselves accordingly: ie in a disciplined, respectful manor.  For those training as Nam Yang students, please refer to the school ethos.  Those from other schools / groups should refer to their own teachers.  The law and culture of Thailand should be respected and any disputes will be settled under Thai law.

As far as possible, our instructors will deal with any problems discreetly, tactfully and in a non confrontational manor.  In the case of persistent or gross misconduct, we reserve the right to ask students to leave the school straight away without refund.

 2. Fairness.

Everyone in the school is treated as family, from the newest student to the highest instructor.  We eat the same food, drink the same water, live in the same buildings, sleep in the same beds etc.  We consider this fair.  If you feel that you are not being treated equally with the rest of the group, bring it to the attention of an instructor immediately.  If you are being treated equally, please do not complain.

3. What you can expect from us.

You should be issued with a receipt on arrival.  If not please ask for one.  You are fully entitled to everything which you have paid for: training; food; accommodation etc.  If you feel that you are paying for something and not getting it, please tell an instructor immediately.  If you require extras, you will be charged accordingly, subject to their availability.  Details of different packages are provided on this website and constitute the basis of all agreements.

4. Complaints / Disputes Policy.

We try our best to run our school in a friendly way so that disputes do not arise.  We do however have the following policy just in case.

Complaints / disputes will be dealt with promptly and in accordance with Nam Yang Pugilistic Association’s code of conduct and local and national law as appropriate.

Complaints / disputes should be referred to the supervising instructor who will deal with them.

In the event that a satisfactory outcome is not obtained, matters may be referred to the instructor in question’s direct superior.  In the event that significant time is required to reach a decision, the instructor will charge for their time at their normal hourly rate.

Ultimately, complaints / disputes will be referred to the country’s most senior instructor whose decision will be binding.

Abuse of this procedure will become a disciplinary issue.

5. Payments.

For details of payment procedures, please click here.  If you have questions, please contact us.  Please be aware that we do require payment in advance.

6. Refunds.

If we are unable to provide a service for which we have been paid in advance, we will provide an alternative or a refund.

In the event that a student fails to attend the training for which they have paid in advance, no refund will be made.

In the event that a student is expelled from the school for disciplinary reasons, no refund will be made.

7. Acts of God!

For reasons which, if you take a minute to think about them, are obvious we do not accept responsibilities for natural disasters, freak weather, acts of war, terrorism or civil disorder, problems with power / telephone supply in the local area or any other occurrences which are completely outside our control.
